18+ Educational guide — Table Play Guide does not run live tables.

Real dealers on a video stream — what that means in practice

Live casino connects your browser or app to a studio where a dealer runs physical cards or a roulette wheel while a timer manages bets on screen.

How a live session works

You join a table lobby, choose a seat or bet spot, and place chips during a short betting window. When the window closes, the dealer continues the round in the studio — spinning the wheel, dealing cards, or revealing results — and the interface updates your balance according to the game rules.

Unlike RNG slots, outcomes come from the physical equipment in the studio, filmed in real time. Latency can vary with your connection; licensed UK operators still need to meet fairness and technical standards for the product they offer.

Common games newcomers meet first

Roulette is often the gentlest entry: pick numbers or colours before the ball drops. Blackjack adds decisions (hit, stand, double) against the dealer’s hand. Baccarat keeps choices minimal — mainly banker, player, or tie — which some people prefer when they want less button pressure.

Game-show style tables remix these ideas with larger studios and side bets. They look flashy; the same advice applies: learn the base rules and set a budget before you open the stream.

What to look for before you join

  • Minimum and maximum stake labels on the table tile.
  • Studio provider name (for example Evolution or Pragmatic Play Live) and whether the table is in English.
  • Whether the operator’s mobile page keeps controls readable in portrait mode.
  • Responsible-gambling shortcuts — limits and time-outs should stay reachable from the account menu during a session.

How our listed operators present live casino

Paddy Power surfaces a full live lobby with mainstream tables — the strongest newcomer path in our set. Spin Genie keeps live games in a clear category so they are not lost among slots. QuinnBet offers a practical selection beside its sports product. Lottoland and Star Sports include live options, though their brand centres sit elsewhere (lottery and sports respectively).

For criterion ranks on live access, see the comparison page.
